Privacy policy
Forteva is developed by Victor J Tidblom AB (reg. no. 559441-7676), the data controller. This policy describes what data we collect when you use the app, why, where it is stored and what rights you have.
In short: we collect what the app needs to work and what helps us make it better. We do not sell data, show ads or track you across other apps.
Data we collect
| Data | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Email address and a random account ID | Signing in, and keeping your data yours |
| Training profile | Goal, experience, gym or home, equipment, workouts per week, strength reference | Choosing a program and calculating your strength profile |
| Training data | Workouts, exercises, sets, weights, reps, workout ratings and notes, your own templates and exercises | This is the app itself: history, records and strength profile |
| Body weight | Weight check-ins, and your weight in Apple Health if you give the app access | Tracking your weight over time and measuring strength relative to body weight |
| Purchases | Whether you have a subscription, and which one | Giving you access to the app. We never see card details; Apple handles them |
| Usage | Which screens and features are used, app version, phone model, approximate country and city from your IP address | Understanding what works and improving the app |
| Error reports | The type of error and where in the code it happened | Finding and fixing bugs. Reports are stripped of weights and email addresses before they are sent |
Apple Health
If you give access, the app reads your step count and your body weight from Apple Health. Steps are only shown in the app and never leave your phone. Your weight can be saved as a check-in. The app writes nothing to Apple Health. Data from Apple Health is never used for advertising or analytics and is not shared with anyone. You can remove access at any time in the Health app on your iPhone.
Marketing emails
We only send marketing by email if you have explicitly agreed. Every such email has an unsubscribe link, and you can change your choice in the app.
Legal basis
- Contract: account, training profile, training data, body weight and purchases are needed to provide the app to you.
- Legitimate interest: usage data and error reports, to keep the app working and make it better.
- Consent: access to Apple Health and marketing emails. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Providers that process data for us
| Provider | Does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and sign-in | EU (Stockholm) |
| PostHog | Usage data and error reports | EU |
| RevenueCat | Subscription status | USA |
| Apple | Purchases, payment and Sign in with Apple | Under Apple's terms |
| Expo | Delivering app updates | USA |
Providers only process the data on our behalf and under contract. Transfers to the USA rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep data
Your data is kept for as long as you have an account. If you delete your account in the app, under Settings and Delete account, your account, profile, training history and check-ins are permanently removed. Usage data in PostHog is linked to your account ID, not to your name or email. If you want that deleted too, email us.
Purchase records that Swedish bookkeeping law requires us to keep are kept for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to have errors corrected, to have your data deleted, to receive it in a machine-readable format and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email us to use your rights. We reply within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, imy.se, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
If the policy changes in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app or by email. The date at the top shows the latest change.
